Saturday, 16th August is shaping up to be one to remember as Cappamore Show goes live with a full day of entertainment, music, and community spirit. It’s not just an agricultural show — this year, it’s a full-blown experience.
The music festival lineup is set to fill the air with sound all day long. Louise Morrissey will headline alongside Stuart Myles, Marty Daniels, Michael Cahill, and Chloe Dennehy. The dance floor will be wide open and ready for action, so make sure to bring your dancing shoes. Whether you’re a fan of country tunes or just looking for a place to let loose, the festival area will be buzzing.
But the show’s far from just a music event. There’s something here for every age, every interest, and every kind of day out. Families will find a full schedule of children’s entertainment.
Face painting and carnival attractions are only the start — magician Carl Campbell will be on hand to amaze and delight, and the Pauline Hynan dancers will be putting on a display of talent and tradition that’s always a hit.
For little ones, there’ll be bouncy castles and a dedicated small toy play area. It’s all designed to let kids run free and make memories. For animal lovers, there’s the pet’s corner, rare breeds to admire, a mobile farm, and a full round of sheepdog trials that showcase skill, instinct, and tradition in action.
Cappamore is also making sure no one is left out. ASD Ireland will be providing a dedicated sensory room, giving children with additional needs a calm and welcoming space to retreat to if needed.
And it doesn’t stop there. Seamus Fox will be reviving traditional Irish games — bringing back the kinds of pastimes that shaped generations and still bring laughter today. For those curious or adventurous, the Murroe Scouts will be putting on a display, and there’ll be a chance to try your hand at archery.
It’s the kind of day where you’ll find something new around every corner. And when it’s time for a breather, there’ll be a full catering tent on hand offering proper dinners, cups of tea, and a place to sit and soak it all in.
Cappamore Show this year isn’t just an event — it’s a celebration of rural life, music, tradition, and family. Whether you’re local or travelling in, it’s a day built for everyone.
