The Clonshire Country Day will return to Adare, County Limerick, tomorrow, Sunday 31 August 2025, bringing a packed afternoon of equestrian action, family fun and rural tradition. Running from 12 noon to 4pm, the event has become a much-loved fixture in the local calendar, drawing crowds from across Limerick and further afield.
This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a wide variety of competitions and attractions to keep both participants and spectators entertained.
A day for all the family
One of the highlights will once again be the dog show, featuring over 16 different classes. From proud pedigree owners to children bringing along the family pet, the dog show always draws laughter, applause and plenty of wagging tails.
The equestrian programme is also set to impress, with jump-cross competitions ranging from 70cm to 1m, as well as more than 20 different showing classes. Riders of all ages and experience levels will be taking part, showcasing their skills in front of a supportive crowd. The pony club games will add to the energy, with young riders competing in fast-paced and entertaining team challenges.
For those who want to experience a taste of competition without the pressure, the hobby horse event offers fun and excitement for the youngest riders, giving them the chance to take part in the spirit of the day.

Tradition meets skill
The Clonshire Country Day also celebrates rural traditions and the crafts that keep them alive. The live farrier competition will see skilled farriers go head to head, demonstrating their craftsmanship and expertise in front of the public. For many, it is a rare opportunity to see this vital trade in action.
Alongside this, the commercial sheep classes will highlight another cornerstone of rural life, giving farmers the chance to present their stock and showcase the quality of local breeding.
Food, fun and community
Beyond the competitions, the event will feature a vibrant mix of food and trade stalls. Visitors can look forward to sampling local produce, enjoying coffee and snacks, and browsing equestrian equipment and country goods. For families, there will be a dedicated family fun zone, with children’s activities and entertainment included free of charge.
The sense of community is central to Clonshire Country Day. In addition to the programme of events, a raffle in aid of MS Ireland will take place, giving everyone the chance to support an important cause while also being in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
