The Quaddock™ founder Shelley Penny has been creating equestrian products for the New Zealand and the Australian markets for over ten years.

Launching the very successful business in 2007 she started with selling second hand saddles. Shelley expanded the business a few years later to include bespoke horse cover making. It wasn’t long before she started coming up with everyday, practical canvas and PVC products for both horse and rider.

Shelley is a former event rider and hugely passionate Showie and also an avid hunter. . Shelley’s ethos is to help make riding easy and fun!

The Quaddock™ is her latest design and is as a game changer for when you need to stay overnight with your horse and box. The product has been widely embraced by Shelley’s existing client base and also has wide applications for other uses, beyond the equestrian scene with uptake into the motocross and motorsport communities.

The Quaddock™, along with her other range of products are proudly designed and produced in the Manawatu, North Island, New Zealand.

The Quaddock is bespoke product that sells it self. Simple safe and comfortable. For those of you who are not familiar – it is a much sturdier type of hammock – which can be hung in your horse box or lorry.  It is wider – so it offers a more restful night’s sleep without the fear of falling out and trust me when I say – it offers a great night’s sleep! All you need is a pillow and a blanket!  With so many people overnighting at shows – a big problem is finding suitable accommodation – people are reluctant to go too far from the show venue, often hotels and B&B’s are costly for the amount of time you will be spending in them – so the Quaddock solves all of this.  Easily assembled in a matter of minutes – it offers you safe and cheap accommodation in  your horsebox! Space wise – when folded it – it is just slightly bigger than an A4 notebook so storing it is easy.  The Quaddock really a game changer for the equestrian sector.

There is currently one distributor in Ireland but Shelly would love to find more who would be interested in stocking them.

As well as the Quaddock. Shelly has the fascinating hay sausages which were originally was just a gimmick to hang out the stand at HOYs and then they just took off as one of her best sellers. The hay sausage is a hard wearing long shaped type hay bag – in the shape of a sausage – which offers a safe and less wasteful way of offering your horses hay.  They are designed with safety in mind so no fear of a hoof getting stuck and of course, with the cost of hay right now – any incentive to avoid hay wastage is a plus!

I do what I do because I love thinking outside of the box and like to offer my customers different alternatives to Equestrian products that are quality durable and made in NZ ✨🎈👍
