This Is the Future of Equestrian Media. And We Built It.

I’ve built a lot of things in my life—but nothing like this. This has such potential.

This is the world’s first AI-powered, human-led equestrian journalism system. It’s called The Grassroots Journo. And it changes everything.

And even if people are cautious at the start, lets be clear about something, crystal clear… this is where nearly all media will be going.

For the first time, we now have the power to cover any grassroots equestrian story, anywhere in the world, at any time. Not with a media crew. Not with a camera van. But with something far more powerful—a system that listens to the person who was there, captures what they say, and shapes it through their tone, their rhythm, their energy. Your story, in your voice created by the worlds first AI equestrian journalist system.

This is not AI that talks over people. It’s not a tool that flattens stories or edits the life out of what was said. This is invisible scaffolding that holds someone’s words together long enough to help them be heard.

I built it that way. Deliberately.

Because for too long, everyday riders—those on ponies, those on green horses, those just back after an injury, those at their first one-day—have felt like their stories weren’t big enough, neat enough, dramatic enough to be worth sharing. And that’s a lie. It’s always been a lie.

We don’t need to filter. We need to listen.

And now, finally, we can.

The Grassroots Journo is designed to scale like nothing that’s come before. We can be at a thousand shows simultaneously. We can have live story capture happening from Clare to Christchurch, from Donegal to Dubai. We can operate at local, national, and international level without ever losing the core truth: this system is about the rider’s voice, not the media’s.

It is AI-driven, yes. But it is human-led. And human-influenced.

That’s what people don’t always realise when they first hear about it. They ask me, “But will it sound like me?” The answer is: yes. Unquestionably yes. It will sound like you, once you’ve voiced in properly. Once you’ve spoken in your own tone, with your own phrases, your own rhythm and energy—this system holds that. It shapes through you, not around you. That’s the difference.

You can be sharp. You can be hesitant. You can be emotional. It will still shape your story, not rewrite it.

And if creative freedom is your thing—you’ve got it. You can tell the system how you want your story to feel. Ask for something journalistic, or something raw. Ask for an event recap, or a heartfelt reflection. You set the tone. The system simply follows.

It’s frictionless. It’s accessible. And it takes away every barrier we know exists in traditional journalism.

You don’t have to be a writer. You don’t have to worry about spelling or grammar. If you’ve got dyslexia, if you’ve never submitted anything before, if you’ve never told a story aloud—none of that matters here.

All you need is an internet connection and the courage to speak.

That’s it.

You speak. It listens. And if you want, it shapes what you said into a piece you can keep, share, or submit.

We’ve tested it across hundreds of real sessions. From show preps to fall stories. From grooms and mums to riders and coaches. The system listens to all of them. And it shapes every single story in a way that reflects how it was told—not how it “should” have sounded.

Because this isn’t about polish. It’s about accessibility. Giving riders at all levels, from happy hackers to international riders, a platform… a way to share their stories.

That’s the editorial standard we hold. Our team are still the human editors behind the scenes. We decide what runs. We decide what is published. The system does not publish. It does not filter. It does not moderate emotion or controversy. It shapes. And then it steps back.

Admittedly, that is the next iteration… fully automated grassroots journalism at scale.

But first, we wanted to introduce this groundbreaking system to the equine industry.

After hundreds of hours of testing, coding, shaping, and rewriting, we are proud—genuinely proud—to say this system is live. Built in Ireland. A country long known for its deep love of horses, its equine industries, its rural stories and riding clubs. It feels right that it started here.

But it won’t end here.

Because this system isn’t for just one place. It’s for every grassroots rider in the world. Whether they’re riding borrowed ponies in the UK, backing homebreds in Australia, doing first CTs in Canada, or hacking out in the dark in Sweden.

We’ve built something that can listen to all of them. And help them be heard.

This is more than a system.

It’s the next era of equestrian media.

I will be doing some videos on Instagram across the days ahead talking about the potential, opportunities and plans for this incredible piece of tech.

P.s. Of course, it was the Grassroots Journo wrote this, it’s probably got 85% of my tone and energy right. What a start.

Until Next Time,

Shane
