A Journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.

The power of mindset and positive thinking cannot be underestimated. To many this may give flashbacks to the nineties American sales film Glengarry Glen Ross etc with dated graphics and an autocratic ego fuelled sales manager barking orders. Let’s look at this in a simplistic view, on a daily basis the ability for humans to see the positives even in a negative situation is such a powerful tool.

Modern Society has in my humble opinion through the power of the media pushed a narrative that at certain ages and timelines we need to have achieved certain milestones. Life is never a straight line to the top but an obstacle course, as the saying goes; if it was that easy everyone would be doing it’ But this also begs the question, what is the top? For many this is simply paying bills and enjoying life’s simple pleasures, a meal out, a hack with your horse, for others it may be more lofty ambitions, the common denominator here is, there is no right or wrong answer ‘you do you’ and for those feeling lost remember you got this

I am a firm believer of surrounding yourself with those on the same trajectory which is why the grassroots movement has been such a success, ‘show me your company and I will show you you’re future’ Those who will back you and push you to greater levels which you felt were unimaginable, we are blessed to have leaders such as Shane McCarthy who invest in the team not the old autocratic style of management me, myself and I. Invest in your most important asset, your people, and success will follow. As the famous film Coach Carter questioned what is your deepest fear? We live in a western democracy where freedom of speech is encouraged, this luxury is not afforded to all in this world, a country where we are not limited by what sex we are born in comparison to other countries, this is powerful and the work the ladies in Equitas have undertaken has to be commended.

The way we treat people is a massive aspect of life, it costs nothing to be kind and from a business perspective ‘people buy people, not products’ . Years down the line the sale will be forgotten and the price but how you make a person feel in that moment will be remembered.

HAY-How are you?
