This weekend in Ballindenisk, the TRI Equestrian Grassroots Championship Programme 2024 promises to be a remarkable event, filled with excitement, community, fun and of course top-notch grassroots equestrian talent. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque countryside, this year’s event is a testament to the dedication and passion of all those involved and a big shout out need to go to Tricia Clarke and Alison Packman (they’ll both kill us for this), from the organisers and volunteers to the sponsors and participants. With a comprehensive schedule and a range of competitions, the programme is designed to cater to both competitors who attended last year and of course enthusiastic newcomers. It will be a cracking weekend.
A Community Effort
One of the standout parts of the TRI Equestrian Grassroots Championship 2024 has to be the spirit of community and collaboration that underpins the event as highlighted by Tricia and the previous winners in other articles we have published. Eventing have expressed their heartfelt thanks to all officials, stewards, and volunteers who have generously given their time and effort. This collective enthusiasm and dedication are what make the event possible, creating an environment where everyone, from participants to spectators, feels welcome and valued. We can’t wait for the course walk, the barbeque, the interviews on stage and of course, us giving some media training lessons. Grassroots at the Grassroots Championship with Eventing Ireland, we couldn’t be happier.
Diverse and Engaging Competitions
The event features a variety of competitions that highlight the versatility and skill of both horse and rider. Starting with Dressage on Saturday, competitors will showcase their precision and grace in the EI100, EI90, and EI80 classes. Following the dressage, a demo titled “Through the Judge’s Eyes” will provide invaluable insights into the judging process, enhancing the understanding and appreciation of the sport for both competitors and spectators.
Sunday will see the action intensify with Showjumping and Cross Country events. The schedule is packed with competitions, ensuring a full day of thrilling performances. The Cross Country phase, in particular, promises to be a highlight, with a course designed by the renowned Peter Fell. The course will test the endurance and agility of the competitors, offering a challenging yet exhilarating experience.
Safety and Well-being at the Forefront
The well-being of all participants is a top priority for the organisers. A dedicated medical team, including a doctor and vet, will be on site to ensure the safety of both riders and horses. Additionally, the organisers have put in place stringent health and safety measures, and all athletes are required to complete a Medical Contact Form to facilitate prompt medical response in case of an accident.
Celebrating Excellence
The TRI Equestrian Grassroots Championship Programme 2024 is not just about competition; it is also about celebrating excellence and supporting grassroots eventers. This is something that has such potential. We really wanted to be here this year, to meet and see the grassroots community in action. The event includes several awards to recognise outstanding performances, such as the Best Turned Out, Best Dressage Score, and Best Newcomer. These awards, sponsored by generous supporters, add an extra layer of excitement and motivation for the participants.
A Platform for Growth and Development
For many riders, the TRI Equestrian Grassroots Championship Programme 2024 offers an invaluable platform for growth and development. It can create a pathway for those hungry and ambitious enough. The event is structured to accommodate riders of different skill levels, providing a supportive environment where newcomers can learn and grow alongside more experienced competitors.
A Fun-filled Weekend for All
Beyond the competitions, the TRI Equestrian Grassroots Championship Programme 2024 promises a fun-filled weekend for everyone involved. The social aspect of the event is highlighted by activities such as the dressage demo and the evening party on Saturday, creating a real sense of community. We are buzzing to meet everyone.
