Eventing Ireland has faced a challenging few weeks, with concerns raised, discussions unfolding, and strong opinions on all sides. But while much has been said, the most important conversations are still ahead. The future of this sport won’t be shaped by social media debates or private frustrations—it will be shaped by those who show up, engage, and make their voices count at the Eventing Ireland AGM on March 12th.
This is not about taking sides. This is about stepping up.
If you are frustrated with the way things are run, be there.
If you think event organisers need more support, say it.
If you believe Eventing Ireland is fighting an uphill battle with limited resources, challenge it.
If you think volunteers can be undervalued, if you believe grassroots riders could be priced out of the sport, if you have an opinion on what needs to change—this is the moment to show up and make it known.
Because here’s the reality: it’s easy to moan about the system, to blame “them”—whoever “they” might be—while standing on the sidelines. But change doesn’t happen through private frustrations. It happens when enough people have the nerve to turn up, to question, to vote, and to hold leadership accountable.
The AGM isn’t some meaningless formality—it’s the one place where grassroots eventers have a seat at the table. This is where decisions get made. This is where leadership is forced to listen. And if the people who care about this sport the most don’t show up, the decisions will be made for them, without them.
So if you have an issue—submit it.
If you want change—fight for it where it counts.
If you think the sport is broken—help fix it.
