The seaside racecourse at Tramore Co. Waterford holds its summer 4-day racing festival from Thursday 17^th August to Sunday 20^th August. Four days of top class racing and all the top trainers, horses, owners and jockeys will be there, “It’s not to be missed”. 

Tramore racecourse holds both National Hunt and Flat racing over the four days of the festival. The course is a Grade Two racecourse which runs right handed over a 7 furlong circuit. Some of racings top National Hunt horses which include, Al Boum Photo trained by Willie Mullins, and ridden by Paul Townend, who won The Cheltenham Gold Cup back in 2019 and 2020 has run and won around the seaside track four times.  Minella Indo is another star who has also won around Tramore racecourse, trained locally in Knockeen Co. Waterford by Henry de Bromhead. Although only winning once around Tramore Minella Indo was no stranger to the winners enclosure in Cheltenham having also won The Cheltenham Gold Cup back in 2021 under Jack Kennedy.

Whether you’re a racing fanatic, a lady who loves getting glammed up in their stylish outfits, a man who likes to get suited and booted, or someone who is looking to have a good and fun day out at the races, Tramore racecourse caters for everyone, with a variety of different bars and restaurants, with live music in all their marquees and hospitality area, with a feature wall also in place for race goers to take their selfies or pictures with friends or family. 

You will not be disappointed with the racecourses’ unbelievable panoramic views looking down into Tramore town and beach. Saturday 19^th August is the biggest day of the festival with Style Evening being held at the seaside track. In my opinion it’s the best day of the festival where people from Waterford City, Tramore, and also holiday makers from around Ireland, Scotland, England and Europe can enjoy where “The Surf Meets The Turf”.
