Round up of Day 1 at the RDS with Sarah Darker

We are back. We are back. We are back. We had crowds; we had pony club moms; we had proud breeders, and we had some very excited riders in some of the prettiest arenas in the country. This can only mean one thing…..

Ladies and Gentleman…..

IT’S HORSE SHOW WEEK

The media team were out in force, meeting businesses and organizations from across the equine industry. There are full interviews to come…. But here are some highlights.

  1. Our Head of Media for Equitas and Eileen’s Daughter in law, Muireann O’Toole Brennan got a ride on the model of Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu, Paul O’Shea’s 2018 WEG ride on the Horse Sport Ireland stand. Muireann did have a few issues reaching the stirrups but otherwise rode well. Paul and Muchu Picchu had a brilliant win in the Sport Ireland Classic yesterday.
  1. We got to meet some amazing businesses ranging from a brand new female owned business, Pretty Paws,  that sells pretty dog accessories, to established brands within the industry such as Bluegrass feeds and ComfyBed Equine bedding. Everyone is so excited to be back out and about, meeting old and new customers.
  1. We got to speak to some amazing groups who are working hard within the community. A key theme of the show this week is showing the value of horses and how they are helping people and giving them opportunities. We met Rupert Isaacson, creator of the Horse Boy method of Equine therapy. He will be doing demonstrations with ChildVision this week and is definitely worth going to see. We also met the wonderful ladies from the ISPCA and heard all about their work and some of the animals they have looking for homes.

Stay tuned in to our social media this week to see more.
